What is Skin Tag?

Skin tags are common benign skin growth and looks like a piece of skin attached to or dependent on prominent than normal skin. In most cases, those who stick to the underlying skin by a small band called the stem or trunk network. They can most often found in sensitive areas like the eyelids, armpits, neck, and groin folds and under the breast. While they are not dangerous, they are often considered unsightly. They often vary in appearance and may be color or darker than the surrounding skin. Almost half of the population will now grow skin tags on some point in their lives.

How doctors treat these Skin Tags?

Although not medically necessary to remove them, many people choose to eliminate acrochordons for cosmetic reasons. This is usually done by way of dental procedures performed by a dermatologist (skin doctor) or a general practitioner.There three basic methods of removing tab:

  • Cutting off the skin striking distance with surgical scissors or scalpel;
  • Frozen with liquid nitrogen such as skin tag removal;
  • Burning the current tag.

Although this method can effectively remove the tags, there is the possibility of adding scarring. In, is likely to grow back there, as this procedure does not remove the stalks below the surface of the skin.
